Thoughts on Hunting

The Japanese call it cultural heritage. So, too, the Eskimos who hunt whales. I think anyone who claims to be a civilized human being should call it barbaric. And that includes sport hunting and the slaughter of animals so we can wear their skins or eat their flesh.

Many deluded humans who consider themselves superior to all other creatures commit the most atrocious acts imaginable.  There is no appealing to those who do nor to those who watch and condone it.

But the rest of us can and must appeal, with enormous passion, to those who disapprove yet say nothing, be it a friend, a neighbor or a relative.  Join groups like In Defense of Animals, The Humane Society, Friends of Animals or PETA.

Silence implies consent.
